EMPOWERING MINDS,
BUILDING RESILIENCE

At A New Beginning Resource Center, we create a safe, welcoming space for youth to explore their mental health, express their feelings, and build lifelong skills for resilience and well-being. Here, every young person is heard, supported, and empowered to thrive.

MEET THE THERAPIST

Shamaine Ford is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who is deeply passionate about helping individuals achieve their short- and long-term goals. Her journey into therapy was inspired by her recognition of the critical role mental health plays and the profound impact it has on communities, particularly in her hometown of Compton, CA, where she grew up.

She views the human mind as a flower that thrives with proper nurturing and care. Shamaine’s therapeutic approach focuses on addressing challenges from a strength-based perspective, building on the inherent qualities and resilience of her clients. With 15 years of experience in the social work field, she has dedicated her career to supporting children and families while maintaining a culturally competent practice.

Shamaine utilizes a Solution-Focused model to guide clients toward their goals and incorporates other evidence-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and mindfulness training.

In her practice, she sees the client as the driver and herself as the passenger, offering guidance and support to help navigate life’s challenges and reach desired destinations.
